Data/DMS

Question: Will all parts have images or will only new machines have them going forward?
Answer: Any part can have an image associated to it based on availability from the OEM.

Question: Will old parts in a supersession loop display inventory levels so you know you have it in stock?
Answer: If PartSmart is integrated with your DMS, the inventory will display for all parts in the supersession loop so you can see if you have an older part in stock.

Question: Does the on-hand quantity for a part show in Part Smart?
Answer: The on-hand quantity will display in PartSmart if PartSmart is connected to your dealer management system (DMS).

Question: Is there a cost for integrating PartSmart with my dealer management system (DMS)?
Answer: ARI does not charge a fee for integrating with your DMS. You will need to reach out to your DMS to see if they have any fees associated to providing integrations.

Functionality

Question: Will a user note save for only your user or for all at your dealership?
Answer: Currently a user note will only save for the user that entered it. We plan on making improvements to that functionality so it will display for all users within a dealership.

Question: Will a pick list save for only your user or for all users at your dealership?
Answer: Currently a picklist will only save for the user that entered it. We plan on making improvements to that functionality so it will display for all users within a dealership.

Question: Can a user log in to more than one PartSmart session with the same username?
Answer: A user can log in to PartSmart more than once from the same computer. If they go to another computer, it will kick them out of the previous session.

Question: The new version of Partsmart updates automatically, so will we still receive the codes to update on the old PartSmart if needing to go offline?
Answer: The new version of PartSmart will process data and application updates automatically without any intervention required by you. If you receive codes for PartSmart CD, that process will stay the same for PartSmart CD.

Question: Will my user notes from PartSmart CD transfer to the new version of PartSmart?
Answer: The new version of PartSmart is a brand-new database structure and unfortunately, we will not be able to port your notes from PartSmart CD to the new version of PartSmart.

Question: Can we make the new version of PartSmart available for our customers to use?
Answer: PartSmart is a product designed for the dealer and is not a B2C application. We do offer PartStream or DataSmart for B2C support.

Internet

Question: Does the new version of PartSmart required an internet connection to work?
Answer: The new version of PartSmart is a web-based application and does require internet connection. If you do not have internet access, you can use PartSmart CD as an offline option.

Beta Signup

Question: If I sign up for the Beta program, will I still have access to my PartSmart CD application?
Answer: If you sign up for the Beta program, you will still have access to PartSmart CD.

Terms

Question: Is there a limit to the number of users that can use part smart? Will there be a user license or an all-encompassing charge?
Answer: This will be handled the same way as it is for PartSmart CD today. If you have 5 seat licenses in PartSmart CD, you will have 5 seat licenses for the new PartSmart.

Question: What if each employee in my dealership doesn’t have their own email address to get user name?
Answer: Each user will need to have their own login. If you don’t have company email address for each employee, you could setup email accounts through any of the free services out there like Google or Yahoo!.
