PartSmart integrates with many popular DMS systems to allow you to view MSRP, Cost, Price, Bin Location, Reorder Qty, & On Hand Qty from your DMS system within PartSmart, as well as export pick lists from PartSmart back to your DMS for order fulfillment. First please confirm you can meet all requirements for installation.
Requirements:
- The Partsmart 10 DMS integration is compatible Windows 7 and newer versions of windows. Older versions of Windows offer small differences in installation.
- Users must log into an Admin account on their Windows PC for this installation.
- Users must log into an Admin account on Partsmart.net.
- Users must install the DMS agent on each computer where Partsmart must connect to a DMS.
- Some DMS systems require a modified DMS Agent Installation or special install instructions. Please click here for DMS specific information.
Continue below to install the Partsmart 10 DMS Agent.
Log into Partsmart.net with an Admin Account
- First go to partsmat.net
- Log in and select Partsmart 10.
- Select the profile icon in the bottom-right.
- Click the Advanced Settings Menu.
Note: If you are not an admin you will not see the advanced settings menu. If needed our support team can confirm the email tied to your admin account.
Configure Partsmart 10 DMS Settings
- Select the Locations tab.
- Click to expand your location.
If a computer services multiple locations, you will need to set DMS options for each.
- Scroll down to DMS Integration.
- select DMS Enabled
- click Download DMS Agent.
- Select your DMS from the list or select Other and enter the name of your DMS manually.
- Enter the DMS Command. This is a file path to the executable your DMS uses to integrate with other systems. For example: C:\ExampleDMS\ExampleDMSIntegrations\ExamplePartSmartInt.exe
Note: If you do not know your DMS command you may reach out to your DMS provider, and they should be able to tell you where the executable for the integration is.
You may also copy the DMS command from Partsmart 8. If Partsmart 8 is connected to a DMS, the DMS command can be found under Utilities > Partsmart options. Copy the text from the field labeled Business System.
- Next confirm if you wish to enable color coded hotspots. You may choose to disable this feature for faster performance when loading IPLs.
- Color Coded hotspots show green for items above reorder point, yellow for items at reorder point, and red for items out of stock.
- Once your DMS command is entered, scroll down and click Save Changes.
- Scroll to the top and select the specific part information you wish to pull from the DMS
- All options should now be available as you have enabled the DMS integration.
- Many dealers prefer to enable all options except Show Cost. Some DMS providers do not support all fields.
- Once more, scroll down and select Save Changes.
Install the DMS Agent
Now let’s check the DMS Agent we were downloading.
Note: If you download a file using Edge you may need to:
- Click on the DMS Agent install file in the Edge downloads list.
- Click the 3 dot menu.
- Select keep the file.
- Click see more.
- Select Keep Anyway.
Chrome and Firefox browsers typically download the file automatically, but other security software may show similar warnings.
- Go to your download folder.
- Double click on the DMS installer. It should be named something like: aridmsagent-ST-1.0-windows-installer
- You may be be asked if you want to allow the app to make changes. Click Yes.
- Click Next to begin setup
- Click Next to select the default install folder
- Confirm Standard (recommended) is checked and click Next
- Click Next once more to begin.
- Click Finish once the setup is complete.
Confirm the DMS is running
- Open your web browser to the partsmart.net tab.
- Refresh the page. If you don’t see the refresh button ctrl+r or f5 will also refresh the page.
- Click the Locations tab in the Advanced Options menu.
- expand your Location.
- Go down to the DMS Integration section.
- If the DMS was running when the page loaded you will see the DMS Version. If not you will see DMS Agent not running.
Confirm product data
- If we go to any part in your DMS and click Query DMS you should see the selected DMS information update after a short delay. Values from the DMS show in blue, instead of the usual orange.
- You may also go to diagrams in your dms. Selecting Query DMS here will update the part entries as they are expanded.

Edit Catalog Codes
- If your DMS requires a catalog code that does not match what is in PartSmart, you can override the default value for a catalog in the Catalog Code Override section.
- Click Save Changes button.
