Scheduled Task DMS Agent Installation (1/2)

PartSmart integrates with many popular DMS systems to allow you to view MSRP, Cost, Price, Bin Location, Reorder Quantity, and On Hand Quantity from your DMS system within PartSmart, as well as export pick lists from PartSmart back to your DMS for order fulfillment.

Some DMS agents require a modified Scheduled Task DMS Agent installation. Please use the below video or text instructions.

First please confirm you can meet all requirements for installation.

Requirements:

  • The Partsmart 10 DMS integration is compatible Windows 7 and newer versions of windows. Older versions of Windows offer small differences in installation.
  • Users must log into an Admin account on their Windows PC for this installation.
  • Users must log into an Admin account on Partsmart.net.
  • Users must install the DMS agent on each computer where Partsmart must connect to a DMS.

Continue below to install the Partsmart 10 DMS Agent.

Log into Partsmart.net with an Admin Account

  • First go to partsmat.net
  • Log in and select Partsmart 10.
  • Select the profile icon in the bottom-right.
  • Click the Advanced Settings menu.

Note: If you are not an admin you will not see the Advanced Settings menu. If needed our support team can confirm the email tied to your admin account.

Configure Partsmart 10 DMS Settings

  • Select the Locations Tab.
  • Click to expand your location.

If a computer services multiple locations, you will need to set DMS options for each.

  • Scroll down to DMS Integration.
  • select DMS Enabled.
  • click Download DMS Agent.
  • Select your DMS from the list or select Other and enter the name of your DMS manually.
  • Enter the DMS Command. This is a file path to the executable your DMS uses to integrate with other systems. For example: C:\ExampleDMS\ExampleDMSIntegrations\ExamplePartSmartInt.exe

Note: If you do not know your DMS command you may reach out to your DMS provider, and they should be able to tell you where the executable for the integration is.

You may also copy the DMS command from Partsmart 8. If Partsmart 8 is connected to a DMS, the DMS command can be found under Utilities > Partsmart Options. Copy the text from the field labeled Business System.

  •  Next confirm if you wish to enable color coded hotspots. You may choose to disable this feature for faster performance when loading IPLs.
    • Color Coded hotspots show green for items above reorder point, yellow for items at reorder point, and red for items out of stock.
  • Once your DMS command is entered, scroll down and click Save Changes.
  • Scroll to the top and select the specific part information you wish to pull from the DMS.
    • All options should now be available as you have enabled the DMS integration.
    • Many dealers prefer to enable all options except cost. Some DMS options do not support all fields.
  • Once more scroll down and select Save Changes.
